Montgomery 2002
In the years 2002 and 2003, I visited one of the most important terrier shows in America, the Montgomery Dog Show. It was a marvellous experience, to observe all the perfectly trimmed and prepared terrier breeds. The dogs were mostly shown by professional handlers and not by their owners. All the terriers, old and young, were very observant and joyful to be there and seemed to enjoy their entrance in the ring.
In 2002, Ch. Thunderstorm of Morningsky was the best dog from 13 entered males. He was also the best Skye in the show. Ch. Here´s Pandora of Morningsky was best bitch and became five major points. These points, added to the points she received through her prizes from the previous day, enabled her to become American Champion. Judge: Mrs Christin Crowell
In 2003 Ch. Thunderstorm of Morningsky attained 5 major points as Best of Winners, and so added to the prizes from the previous year, he also became American champion. Ch Here´s Pandora was elected first in the Best of Breed Competition, ten American Champions were entered.Adjacent to this, she was also elected best Skye of the show under 45 entered dogs.Judge: Mr Garry Vlachos. In the group, best of all terrier breeds, Emely was in the first five out of 2073 Terriers. It was a wonderful experience and a fantastic success for our “Morningsky´es”.
I was extremely pleased to receive this award; I saw in it a renewed verification, that the path, my husband and I had taken so long ago to breed dogs, was a good decision.
I received a special honour at the Montgomery show. Due to the American success of my two Skyes, Scooter and Emely, along with Panja´s success, I was awarded the following document. This nominated me to
Top Breeder in America 2002
Emely was the best Skye at the World Champion Show in Amsterdam 2002, the Montgomery Show in America 2003, and the Crufts Dog Show in Birmingham 2002. She was also best from 60 entered dogs at the Skye terrier Meeting, judged by the breed specialist Sandra Goose Allen from America. Emely is the first German Skye terrier to become not only the English but also the American champion. This is even more remarkable since both countries have different standards.
